Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has sounded the alarm, stating that Nigeria is drifting towards a one-party state.
Makinde expressed concern over recent political developments, citing issues within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as well as decisions by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the judiciary.
Makinde described these developments as not just political issues, but concerns for anyone invested in Nigeria’s democratic future.
He emphasized that the country’s democratic space is being weakened, urging vigilance to prevent a slide into a one-party system.
