As Lagos State approaches another critical juncture in its governance, the name that stands out as the most qualified and capable leader to steer the ship of progress is Akinwunmi Ambode. Having served a successful first term as Governor, Ambode has demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication to the people of Lagos. It’s time to endorse him for a second term and build on the remarkable achievements of his first term and that of his successor.

When Ambode took office, Lagos was already a bustling metropolis, but it faced numerous challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, poor waste management, and a struggling education system. However, Ambode’s administration tackled these issues head-on, launching initiatives that transformed the state’s landscape. The introduction of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority’s (LAWMA) “Cleaner Lagos” campaign, for instance, significantly improved waste collection and disposal, making the city cleaner and more beautiful.

In the education sector, Ambode’s focus on improving the quality of education bore fruit, with significant investments in infrastructure, teacher training, and student welfare. The state’s education index rose, and Lagos became a model for other states to emulate. The “Lagos Eko Project”, aimed at improving basic education, was a game-changer, and the results are there for all to see.

Ambode’s administration also made significant strides in infrastructure development, with the construction of new roads, bridges, and flyovers, easing traffic congestion and improving mobility. The “Lagos Metro” project, a 27km rail network, is a testament to his commitment to modernizing the state’s transportation system.

The economy also received a boost, with Ambode’s administration creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive. The state’s internally generated revenue (IGR) grew significantly, and Lagos became a hub for investment and entrepreneurship. The “Lagos State Business Facilitation” portal, an online platform for business registration and licensing, simplified the process, making it easier for investors to set up shop.

Ambode’s commitment to social welfare is also noteworthy. The “Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme” provided access to quality healthcare for millions of residents, while the “Lagos State Housing Scheme” delivered affordable housing units to thousands of families.

Given these achievements, it’s clear that Akinwunmi Ambode is the right leader to take Lagos to the next level. His experience, vision, and track record of delivery make him the ideal candidate for a second term. A second term will enable him to build on the progress made, tackle new challenges, and accelerate the state’s development.

Ambode’s leadership style, which emphasizes inclusiveness, consultation, and collaboration, has earned him the respect and admiration of Lagosians. He has shown that he is a leader who listens, is responsive, and is committed to serving the people.

In conclusion, Akinwunmi Ambode’s first term has been a resounding success, with significant achievements in various sectors. A second term will be a fitting reward for his dedication and service to Lagos. It’s time to endorse him for another four years of transformative leadership. Let’s give Ambode a chance to continue the good work. He’s got Lagos on the move, and with him at the helm, the sky’s the limit.

    Ambo…one more term!
