In a shocking end to an era, Nigeria’s Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar at WWE WrestleMania 42 to force “The Beast Incarnate” into retirement.
The high-stakes bout, billed as “Career vs. Career,” saw Obafemi withstand Lesnar’s brutal German suplexes and a crushing F-5 before turning the tide. The Lagos-born powerhouse countered a second F-5 attempt and planted Lesnar with his signature _Nigerian Nightfall_ finisher for the 1-2-3.
Under the match stipulation, Lesnar’s legendary career came to an immediate end. The Allegiant Stadium crowd erupted as Obafemi stood tall, draped in the green and white of Nigeria, while Lesnar removed his gloves and laid them in the center of the ring.
“Africa to the world,” Obafemi told the WWE Universe after the match. “This is for everyone who was told they couldn’t.”
Lesnar, a former UFC champion and multi-time WWE world champion, leaves behind a two-decade legacy of dominance. For Obafemi, the win cements his rise as one of WWE’s most unstoppable new stars and marks a historic moment for Nigerian representation on wrestling’s biggest stage.
