Spell-a-Ton Africa Ltd is launching the National Spelling Championship, a prestigious academic competition aimed at promoting literacy, vocabulary development, and academic excellence among Nigerian students.
The championship will bring together young learners from primary and secondary schools across the country to compete in a dynamic contest of spelling proficiency, confidence, and intellectual skill.
According to Dr. OPrince Agwuncha, Director of Spell-a-Ton Africa Ltd, the championship is more than just a contest – it’s a movement to empower the next generation of African leaders through language mastery. “The competition aims to nurture a love for words while building essential communication abilities that are critical for academic and lifelong success,” he emphasized.
The championship will feature multiple rounds, including objective tests, written spelling exercises, and oral spelling challenges, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of participants’ abilities.
The competition will be held in the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, with the National Grand Finale and Award Ceremony taking place in October ¹.
Program Coordinator, Miracle Ozonyiri-Nwaneri, stated that the championship promises to be exciting for participants, with opportunities for students to build confidence and showcase their talents on a national platform. “The championship will feature participation from schools nationwide, a structured, multi-stage competition format, recognition and awards for outstanding spellers and schools,” she said.
