***CP Hadejia says arrests are “major breakthrough” in fight against banditry in Bagudo LGA_

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested seven suspected bandits linked to ongoing investigations into violent crimes in Bagudo Local Government Area, including the recent killing of three Federal Road Safety Corps officers.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, disclosed this in a statement issued Monday. He said the suspects were picked up during intelligence-led operations on June 5, 2026, targeting criminal networks operating within the Soda Forest axis and border communities.

According to the Command, operatives of the Mobile Police Force intercepted three suspects riding a Haojue motorcycle along the Illo–Lolo Road. The suspects were allegedly moving from the Soda Forest to border communities to buy food supplies for bandits hiding in forest enclaves. The motorcycle was recovered.

In a separate operation along the Bakin Ruwa–Ka’oje axis, security operatives arrested four more suspects as part of efforts to squeeze criminal elements in the area.

All seven suspects are in custody while detectives probe the extent of their involvement in criminal activities, with particular focus on links to the attack that killed three FRSC personnel.

Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Hadejia, described the arrests as a significant breakthrough in the Command’s campaign against banditry and violent crime.

He commended his men for professionalism and thanked residents for providing timely, credible information that led to the operations.

“These operations will continue. We remain committed to intelligence-driven policing to dismantle criminal networks, restore peace in affected communities, and bring perpetrators to justice,” CP Hadejia said.

He urged residents to stay vigilant and keep sharing useful information with security agencies, assuring that all reports would be handled with strict confidentiality.
