National Treasurer Sandra Egubor ‘Lady Mechanic’ leads union delegation to Abuja office
The Amalgamated Union of Motor Mechanics and Technicians of Nigeria, AUOMMATON, and the National Automotive Technicians Association, NATA, are seeking stronger collaboration with the National Automotive Design and Development Council, NADDC, to raise industry standards and create more opportunities for Nigerian mechanics and technicians.
AUOMMATON National Treasurer, Engr. Dr. Sandra Egubor, popularly known as “Lady Mechanic”, alongside Comrade David Ajetunmobi, NATA National General Secretary, paid a courtesy working visit to the Director General of NADDC, Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, at the Council’s Abuja office.
The meeting focused on deepening stakeholder engagement and exploring partnerships that will uplift the automotive repair and maintenance sector in Nigeria.
“Stronger partnerships mean greater possibilities for Nigerian mechanics and technicians,” the delegation stated after the visit. “We are committed to uplifting the standards of our industry through meaningful stakeholder engagement.”
NADDC, as the apex government agency driving automotive industrialization, has been working with industry unions to improve technical training, certification, and access to modern equipment for local technicians.
The visit signals growing synergy between government and unions as Nigeria pushes to formalize and upgrade its auto repair ecosystem, with AUOMMATON and NATA positioning their members to benefit from new policies and technical support.
AUOMMATON, in a post-visit statement, reaffirmed its motto: _“Good Thinking, Good Possibilities!”_
