…IE says supply will be restored once floodwaters recede and safety checks are completed…
Ikeja Electric has notified customers of an unplanned power outage affecting parts of its network following flooding at the Oworo Transmission Station.

In a public notice on its official social handle, the DisCo said the flooding has disrupted operations at the facility, forcing a shutdown to protect equipment and personnel. The incident has left several communities within the Oworo axis and adjoining areas without electricity.
“The outage is due to flooding at our Oworo Transmission Station. As a safety precaution, we have de-energised the station to prevent damage to infrastructure and to keep residents safe,” the company stated.
IE appealed for understanding from affected customers and urged residents to avoid contact with electrical installations in flooded areas.
“We regret the inconvenience caused and are working to restore power to the affected areas as quickly and safely as possible. Updates will be provided as the situation evolves,” Ikeja Electric said.
