The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement, extending warm congratulations to Christians in Nigeria and across the diaspora.
He urged Nigerians to reflect on the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, patience, and love, as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
The minister also encouraged citizens to promote unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, essential for national development.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies aimed at national renewal, economic growth, and shared prosperity, wishing all Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.
