The Federal Government has declared Thursday, March 19th, and Friday, March 20th, 2026, as public holidays to mark Eid-ul-Fitr. This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as announced by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani.
In his message, Minister Tunji-Ojo congratulated Muslims on completing Ramadan and urged them to uphold the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice. He also called on Nigerians to pray for peace, unity, and progress during the festive period. Additionally, he encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and show kindness to those in need ¹.
