An Abuja-based company, Stone Rockers Limited, has filed a N5 billion suit against the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) over the alleged unlawful shutdown of its operations and seizure of equipment.
The suit, filed by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Olalekan Ojo, claims the NSCDC, its Commandant General, and one Attah John Onoja engaged in arbitrary abuse of statutory powers by sealing the company’s quarry site without a court order.
The site, located at Plot FL-109 Cadastral Zone, Gaube Farmland Layout, Barmishi Village, Kuje Area Council, is legally covered by Quarry Lease No. 37326. The alleged shutdown occurred on July 24, 2025, following claims of encroachment on another firm’s land.
Stone Rockers seeks declarations that the shutdown and seizure of properties were ultra vires and arbitrary, and requests the court to order the defendants to pay N5 billion in damages, restore equipment, and refrain from further interference.
The case is scheduled for hearing on May 19, 2026, before Justice Mohammed Garuba Umar.
