The Supreme Court will hear an appeal by former Senate President David Mark against a suit filed by former ADC deputy national chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe over the party’s leadership on Tuesday.
Mark seeks to stay the execution of the Court of Appeal’s March 12 ruling and restrain INEC from altering the party’s leadership structure pending the appeal’s hearing and determination.
The ADC has been embroiled in a deepening factional crisis, with rival camps claiming leadership. The dispute led to court orders and administrative uncertainty, with INEC delisting Mark as national chairman.
The situation sparked protests from both factions, with Mark’s supporters, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former governors, demanding recognition.
