Indian Vegetarian and Vegan UK, Chi Empathy Towards Animals reward 6 pupils for essays on health and compassion

Six secondary school students in Lagos have been announced as winners of the 2026 Essay Competition organized by Indian Vegetarian and Vegan UK in partnership with Chi Empathy Towards Animals Organization.
The competition, held under the theme BENEFITS OF A VEGETARIAN DIET’ recorded what organizers described as a “remarkable turnout” with students from across Lagos submitting “thoughtful, well-researched essays on health, compassion, and conscious living.”


Following a careful review by a panel of judges, six students were selected across two age categories:
*Ages 11 – 14*
1. Tabunmi Fareedah
2. Lawal Falias
3. Obunuwe Emmanuel
*Ages 15 – 18*
4. Shumaya Idris
5. Hamod Yunusa Oluwanifemi
6. Ale Precious
Organizers said all students who participated will receive a token of appreciation in recognition of their effort.
The official awards and prize presentation is held on
Monday, 6th July, 2026
at Distinct Comprehensive College, Moshalashi Road, Egan Igando, Lagos.
Indian Vegetarian and Vegan UK expressed gratitude to all participating students, parents, teachers, and school authorities for their support.
“We remain committed to inspiring a more conscious, healthy, and empathetic generation through youth engagement,” the organization stated.
The competition forms part of ongoing efforts to engage young people in conversations around healthy living, environmental sustainability, and empathy towards animals.
