Ikeja Electric has hit back at a malicious online publication falsely accusing the company and its leadership of impropriety, describing the claims as “fabricated” and “misleading”.

In a statement, the company revealed that the publication, circulated on WhatsApp and other social media platforms, was attributed to unverified individuals and an unregistered organization, “Nigerian Global Business Forum”.

Ikeja Electric’s CEO, Mrs. Folake Soetan, and Board Chairman, Dr. Kola Adesina, were specifically targeted in the fake publication, which contained false claims about the company’s operations, safety record, and financial practices.

The company has instructed its lawyers to conduct a forensic investigation and initiate defamation proceedings against those responsible for the publication.

“We will not tolerate coordinated disinformation campaigns aimed at undermining public confidence and tarnishing our corporate integrity,” Ikeja Electric said, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, service improvement, and corporate governance.

The company advised the public to disregard the fake publication, emphasizing its dedication to delivering reliable power and upholding global standards of safety and operational excellence.

Ikeja Electric encourages customers to report concerns via its official channels, including phone lines, security hotline, and whistleblowing lines.

The company, Nigeria’s largest power distribution network, remains focused on providing quality service and adhering to the highest standards of safety and customer excellence.
