Egbin Power Celebrates International Women’s Day, Advocates for Greater Participation of Women

    In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2025, Egbin Power, Nigeria’s leading power generation company, has emphasized the importance of gender equality and the need for increased participation of women in the power sector and beyond.

    At a colorful event held at the company’s premises, the CEO of Egbin Power, Mokhtar Bounour, reiterated the company’s commitment to fostering a workplace where diversity, equity, and inclusion thrive. He praised the invaluable contributions of women in the company and across the world, urging them to remain bold and confident in their pursuits.

    The event featured presentations, mentorship sessions, and an interactive workshop, where guest speakers engaged female employees on topics such as overcoming challenges in male-dominated industries, mental health, and turning passions into side hustles.

    Ijeoma Nwakuche, Managing Director of MML Consulting Ltd, delivered a keynote presentation titled “Accelerate Action: A Call to Do More,” emphasizing the need for women to rise up and demand equality and equity in the workplace.

    Dr. Yomi Jaye, Managing Director of CECCY Health, spoke on the importance of prioritizing mental health and lifestyle approaches for women, while Emmanuel Udu, Chief Corporate Service Officer of Egbin Power, encouraged women to turn their passions into side hustles.

    The CEO of Egbin Power also recognized outstanding women in the organization, presenting them with the CEO’s Special Awards.

    Through this celebration, Egbin Power reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women and fostering an inclusive environment, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5).

    As the company continues to promote gender equality and diversity, it is clear that Egbin Power is dedicated to creating a workplace where innovation and excellence flourish, and where women can thrive and reach their full potential.
