The executive Chairman of Alimosho LG, Honourable Jelili Sulaimon today played host to the Cuban Ambassador, Mrs. Clara Pulido in his office, today’s visit was unique as it marks the first of its kind since elected in office weeks ago for his second term.

Alimosho LG has maintained a bilateral relationship with the nation of Cuba as this visit makes it the second of such visits from a Cuban Ambassador, It could be recalled that the former ambassador had visited the local government Chairman during his first term in office where bilateral issues were discussed for partnerships on germane community development issues.

During deliberations with the Cuban Ambassador

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic had affected implementation of some the areas of keen interest as the chairman used the today’s visit to reiterate on those needs while urging for an expedited actions this term. Top on the list include widening areas of opportunities in the treatment of Children, Pregnant Women and the Elderly, Introduction/importation of highly subsidized diagnostic equipment, Laboratory materials like reagents and other facilities, creation of a seamless knowledge transfer from Cuba in innovations and technology, joint Establishment of Medical Equipment Assembly Laboratory and training of ALIMOSHO staff by Cuba medical specialist in Cuba health management services amongst others

In her response, Mrs. Clara Pulido stated clearly that as much as the needs stated are within reach, the Cuban government requests further opportunity for discussion with the Chairman towards reaching a common ground on its contributions on implementation, she noted that the mission will not impose its ideas and plans on the people of Alimosho despite being its pledge to finance or the facilitation.

The Vice Chairman, Alimosho Local Government Hon Ibrahim Akinpelu Johnson, on behalf of the council management, applauded the Ambassador for following up on her predecessor’s desire on the plight of Alimosho residents’ demands and urges for other areas not listed by the Chairman for collabrations with the Cuban mission.

Among those present at the august occasion were Comrade Abiodun Aremu, a renowned activist, party representatives led by APC Alimosho caretaker committee Chairman Hon Tosin Fatoki, the Community Development Committee (CDC) Alimosho led by Chief Aluko and other Council Management staffs.
