Protesters march to party secretariat in Jos, demand transparent primary for PKK Federal Constituency_

*JOS, Plateau State* — Tension rose at the Plateau State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday as some party members staged a peaceful protest over what they described as the imposition of a candidate in the House of Representatives primary election for the Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam, PKK, Federal Constituency.

The protesters, who converged at the party’s state secretariat in Jos, carried placards and chanted solidarity songs, calling on the APC leadership to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process.

Speaking to journalists, the protesters alleged that the process leading to the primary was skewed in favour of a particular aspirant, and that the will of party delegates was being subverted.

“We are law-abiding members of the APC. All we are asking for is a level playing field. The imposition of a candidate for the PKK seat will not stand,” one of the protesters said.

They urged the state and national leadership of the party to intervene and conduct a credible primary that reflects the wishes of APC members in Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam.

The demonstrators stressed that the protest was peaceful and that their goal was to protect the integrity of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

As of press time, party officials at the secretariat had not issued an official response to the allegations.

The PKK Federal Constituency seat is considered strategic in Plateau South, and party stakeholders say internal unity will be critical for the APC to retain influence in the zone.

The Alimosho Mail will continue to follow developments on the matter.
