A coalition of leaders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) is calling for the removal of Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, citing alleged insubordination and actions undermining the party. The APC Leaders Forum (ALF) and Tinubu/Shettima Solidarity Movement (TSSM) staged protests at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, demanding President Bola Tinubu to sack Wike.

The group alleges Wike has persistently undermined the party’s leadership, challenging the President’s authority. They point to his comments in Rivers State, where he accused APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, of meddling in state politics, as evidence of intimidation and affront to the party’s National Working Committee.
Wike is also accused of waging a campaign against Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and making inflammatory remarks that could inflame tensions in the Niger Delta region. The coalition warns Wike’s continued stay in the cabinet is a “political liability” and could deepen internal divisions within the APC, affecting its 2027 prospects.
“We will continue to mobilise our members nationwide in defence of the party, the President’s leadership, and the unity of the country until this matter is decisively resolved,” the statement said.
The open letter was signed by prominent APC leaders, including Chief Dr. Emeka Okoro, Dr. Adekunle Balogun, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf, and Mallam Abdulkareem Isiaka.
