One of the front runners of Atiku support groups Atiku Campaign Movement Worldwide (ACMW) with over 500,000 members both within the country and in diaspora says the movement is not resolved to supporting the candidacy of Mr Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos gubernatorial.

The president general of the movement Barrister Segun Michael told our correspondent in a brief chat that the movement which is a non-partisan nor affiliated to any political party but rather in the course of advancing good governance at all levels of government is not in anyway compelled to supporting Mr Jimi Agbaje despite being a member of the same party with the presidential candidate Alhaji Abubarkar Atiku whom the group is thrusting to win in the 2019 general elections.

In his words Barrister Michael noted that efforts have been made to reach out to the camp of Agbaje but yet to yield fruitful results; rather the camp of his major rival in the contest and the candidate of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the number one job of the center of excellence though; through his proxies have approached ACMW for their support for their candidate. He further reiterated that though it will be ideal for Lagosians to experience change in the leadership of Lagos state so as to avail them the real opportunity to know how their collective resources have been either well managed or not since the inception of the current democratic dispensation.

He concluded that though there are pressures on the group from divergent quarters to support the candidacy of the PDP at all levels which he said remains option for the movement to be convinced of such candidates and their abilities on deliverables as Nigerians cannot afford to be toyed further with by any political officer irrespective of their political office. He also said that the movement have already identified and listed some candidates from other political parties with the right qualities owing to the antecedents prior today in representing Nigerians in political positions across the country, though he maintained silent on the lists.
